what a weekend for some of our staffsminis members...
Well once again (4th time) off we trotted to Yorkshire to support a Northern Minis event, and once again we were not disappointed. What an absolutely fab weekend!!! Saturdays run was 200 miles around the Wolds, lunch at Stamford bridge and finishing at Filey Country Park. Although long it was great fun driving through the countryside, including fields with cows and horses, definately something you don't do every day! Sunday was a trip to Scarborough starting at Olivers Mount. With a 1pm start looming more and more minis kept coming, over 200 in the finish. Every car had balloons tied to the roof and a plaque on the front to both advertise the run and the good cause we were raising money for, Macmillian Cancer Relief. Scarborough was packed as the weather was great, the streets were lined solidly with smiley waving people wondering what was going on, even the police women who stopped the traffic for us couldn't help smiling. Over £3000 has been raised so far, well done northern minis, thanks for another great weekend and see you next May for the Moorland and Coastal Run. Jo and Dave ![]() ![]() ![]() On Saturday the Mini Owners taking part could enjoy a route that was 190 Miles long. It was not surprising that out of all the Minis that started the run only about 20% finished the course.only the Real Diehards could complete the course which was not for the faint hearted People take note what id give for an ( Outstanding Female Navigator.) This Demanding and exciting route proved once again that some of the best Mini Roads are of Course in Yorkshire. and everyone that took part enjoyed the opening day of this weekend event. Sunday was the day for The Mile of Minis In Aid of MacMillan Cancer relief .The start was at Oliver's Mount Race Circuit used quite a lot I'm told by Motorbikes Once again there is nothing more pleasing to the eye then a whole load of Mini,s driving together. going around the track was great fun and the route to carborough was even better with people lining up on the pavements to cheer the oncoming Mini,s on Big Smiles and waves all round a great reception for all of the Mini,s by the general public gave every Mini Owner the one thing you can never get at any Mini Show, The feel good Factor that makes you Smile. The Minis then made their way to the car park were a raffle was held A big thank you to Dean & Gilly and all the Team Northernmini Members for making it all possible. Thanks to the Club responsible for donating the raffle prizes and a great big thank you to all of the Mini Owners who took part in this Charity Event Mini Regards Rt Hon Keith Davies. |
