Moorland and Coastal run with a sunday convoy rounf north Yorkshire... May 20th – 22nd Location: Yorkshire Attended: Over 80 minis 6 members attended this event, some for the second time and others for the first time. It is great fun. We pitched the tents early on Friday afternoon and by tea time the site looked like Glastonbury, including MUD!!! You have relaxing evening with plenty of liquid being consumed, non-alcoholic of course! It’s then a nice early start for the treasure hunt on Saturday. The treasure hunt takes you all across the Yorkshire Moors and into lots of beautiful little villages in the hunt for clues. There is a set route with clues along the way and then set stop points where you park up, jump out and do lots of frantic running around trying to find answers. We didn’t do to badly finishing in 4th and 5th place. Sunday is a convoy around North Yorkshire. Leaving the campsite in convoy we travelled to Dalby Forest, where we eventually arrived after making a u-turn due to the navigator talking too much (WHOOPS). Good photo opportunity at Dalby as you can see. We then travelled through the forest towards Oliver’s Mount Race Track, a few laps of the track and it was down to Scarborough seafront. The best part of the convoy. We drove up and down the golden mile, so minis were both sides of the road, flashing lights, bipping horns and just generally making a lot of noise. Lots of people enjoying a quiet Sunday afternoon stroll along the promenade stood open mouthed wondering what was going on – WICKED! We then parked up and enjoyed our standard mini event diet of fish, chips and ice cream! It is a very enjoyable weekend and the Northern Minis team should be congratulated for their excellent organisational skills. Jo, Dave, Chris, Laura, Sue and Keith ![]() |
